One of my favourite parts about summer is spending time at the cottage. Whether I’m sitting on the dock, looking out onto the lake, or gazing up at a star-filled sky, I find that it’s a great place to reflect. I feel so far removed from the city and the busyness of life that I’m able to just sit and get lost in the peace that surrounds me. The world and its problems seem so far away, almost as if they live in another world. It’s a world that I don’t have to face until Monday, and on long weekends, Tuesday. If you ever feel like you’re struggling to catch your breathe, the cottage is the place for you. Just take a deep breathe and suddenly you’re back on the ground. You’ll realize that there is more to life than work. There are more important things than money. Things like family. I have a great family. They’re loud and entertaining, but most importantly, they remind me that I’m loved. They remind me that there’s a world outside of work and the stresses of life.
But all good things must come to an end eventually. Sooner or later Monday peaks its head around the corner and in the words of En Vogue, it’s “Back to life. Back to reality.”
